Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A) assist with the routine care and treatment of sick, disabled, and terminally ill patients under the direct supervision of nurses in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, hospices and home health agencies.
 
C.N.A.'s engage in tasks such as transferring and transporting patients, giving bed baths, giving back rubs, making up hospital beds and monitoring vital signs.
 
Certified Nursing Assistants are qualified for employment as entry level care givers in hospitals, long term care facilities, clinics, physician offices, and private homes.
Many C.N.A.’s continue with education that leads to certification as a
 Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.


Advance Clinical Program

Covenant C.N.A. School Offers  an Advance Clinical Program

For Our Certified Nursing Assistants and

Patient Care Technicians  At One of

Atlanta's Leading Hospital. 

In order to participated in the

Advance Clinical Program students will be assessed by the

Program Coordinator.

To be eligible students must have the

following before the start of the program:


Have started the Hepatitis B 
Series Vaccination


Have current Measles, Mumps,
Rubeola (MMR) Vaccinations


Pass Drug Test 
and
Background Check
With No Convictions

special agency. You will be given special instructions prior to the start of the 
Advance Clinical Program*****

Patient Care Technician/Patient Care Assistant

Patient Care Technicians work along side doctors, nurses and
other
health care professionals
to provide direct patient care in a variety of
health care environments.

The Patient Care Technician works under the supervision of
nursing or medical staff to provide basic patient care
including but not limited to :

• Monitoring and recording vital signs: temperature,
blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates

• Assisting in medical exams

• Performing CPR and First Aid

• Performing basic lab work

• Phlebotomy





Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training

 Training through the American Heart Association

Covenant C.N.A. School  CPR & FIRST AID training class includes use of Automated

External Defibrillators (AED) & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
 for adults and children.

Rescue breathing techniques, airway obstruction & choking prevention.

Basic description of physiology & anatomy of the heart & lungs. Recognition &

treatment of cardiopulmonary emergencies such as heart attacks and  strokes.

After completion of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 

CPR students will receive a  CPR Card valid for 2 years

through the American Heart Association.



First Aid Training:

Trainig through the American Heart Association

Covenant C.N.A. School First aid training class includes instruction on scene survey,

recognizing the signs and symptoms of sudden illness, shock or injuries, methods of

treating patients with injuries: controlling bleeding, bandaging,

splinting, transporting patients, treating victims for shock,

triage principles and legal aspects of providing first aid. 

After completion of First Aid Training  students will receive a
First Aid Card valid for 2 years
through the American Heart Association.

C.N.A. Refresher for the Georgia State Competency Examination

C.N.A. Refresher is designed for C.N.A.’s

who are currently working in the health care industry, 

who have failed the wwritten or clinical portion of the

Georgia  Nurse Aide Competency State Examination, 

or need assistance in preparing to retake the examination.
 

Either class room or practical clinical training is available. 



Candidates must either be registered with the

Georgia Health Partnership or have completed a

Certified Nursing Assistant Program
(Proof  of  C.N.A. completion is required)

 Refresher course candidates will be assessed by

the Program Coordinator before being accepted into the program.
